This hat closes that gap. The brim is wide and curves down all the way round, so shade falls on your ears and the sides of your face, not only your forehead. From the back and sides of that brim hangs a long fabric neck cape that covers your neck completely and wraps forward over both cheeks. There is also a detachable face mask that clips across the nose and mouth when the sun is at its worst, and unclips and hangs out of the way when it is not.
