This one arrives already there. The cotton is stone-washed before it is ever sewn, so the colour fades unevenly across the panels and along the seams the way a favourite cap does after two years. The crown is soft and unstructured with a low profile, so it sits down close to your head instead of perching high, and the brim is soft enough to bend by hand into whatever curve you like and it stays. At the back there is a strap with an antique brass buckle, not Velcro, so nothing catches in your hair and nothing scratches the back of your neck.
