Snando Neck Release Board

★★★★★ 4.6 out of 5 based on 50 reviews
$59.95$119.95LESS THAN $2 A NIGHT

The knot you keep rubbing isn't where the problem is.

The Snando Neck Release Board is a firm cervical traction board. You lie on it for 10 minutes and the weight of your own head holds steady pressure on the two release points at the base of your skull. No straps, no batteries, no one else's hands.

  • Release at the source: the spot at the base of your skull you can't get to on your own, held like a strong pair of hands, for ten full minutes.
  • 10 minutes, hands free: gravity does the holding. You just lie there.
  • Firm by design: dense EVA keeps its shape under your head. A rolled towel flattens in minutes.
  • Less than half a therapy session: one board you use every night, for about the price of half a single visit.
  • For the nights in between: when the sessions help but your neck compresses back up before the next one.

The Snando Neck Release Board is a firm self-care tool, not a medical device. These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA. Yes, there are $15 versions. Here's what's different.

  • The curve is set to the two points at the base of the skull, not a generic foam bump.
  • Dense EVA holds its shape under a 10 to 12 lb head instead of squashing flat.
  • It comes with the First-Week guide. Most boards ship with no instructions at all.
  • Ships from a US warehouse, with a 90-day money-back guarantee behind it.
WHY TEN MINUTES BEATS THIRTY SECONDS OF RUBBING

PhysioCurve is the same curve principle physical therapists use on traction tables. Lie back and your head's own 10 to 12 lb weight becomes the pressure: steady pressure on the two suboccipital points, held for you, for the full 10 minutes.

Stuck muscle fibers do not release from a quick rub. They release from steady, targeted pressure held longer than any hand can hold it, including your own.

SIZE, MATERIAL, WHAT'S IN THE BOX
  • Dense EVA board, 33 x 14 x 6 cm
  • Two lobes cradle the base of the skull, ridged points along the tail
  • No batteries, no cords, no charging. Nothing to break
  • Holds its shape under your head's weight, unlike a towel or a soft pillow
  • Light enough to keep by the bed or in a desk drawer
  • Includes the First-Week guide most boards ship without
HOW TO USE
  1. Lie on your back on the floor or a firm mattress.
  2. Set the two lobes under the base of your skull, tail running down along your upper spine.
  3. Let your head go heavy. Do not hold your neck up.
  4. Start at 3 to 5 minutes. Build to 10 as it eases.
SAFETY - GUARANTEE

This is a firm self-care tool, not a medical device. It uses no electricity, no heat and no batteries: only your own head weight and the curve.

Skip it if you have a diagnosed neck condition, a recent injury or vascular issues, and check with your physical therapist first if you are unsure. Stop if you feel dizzy or numb, and reset your head position using the diagram: that feeling usually means you are lying on the wrong spot.

Covered by the 90-Day Money-Back Guarantee either way.

Built for the nights between appointments.

WHY WE BUILT THIS BOARD

Built for the nights between appointments.

People who go to physical therapy say the same thing: the sessions help, but between visits the neck compresses back up. Thumbs and heating pads only skim the surface for a few seconds, and the ache is back before the week is out.

The Snando Neck Release Board exists for the nights in between. One curve, molded firm enough to hold its shape under a 10 to 12 lb head, so the pressure lands on the two points at the base of your skull and stays there for the full 10 minutes. No straps. No batteries. Nothing to remember except lying down.

3 things ten minutes on your back actually does

Release At The Source

Release At The Source

The two points at the base of your skull sit under thick muscle. Your fingers can find them, but they cannot hold pressure there for ten minutes. The curve can.

Hands Free, Every Night

Firm On Purpose: Yes, It's Hard

What ten minutes on the floor actually changes

2am, third night this week 2am, third night this week
Ten minutes later Ten minutes later

When your neck is why you're still awake

You lie down and the ache at the base of your skull picks that exact moment to start up. Ten minutes on the board before you get into bed, letting the weight of your own head hold that spot open, is the whole routine.
Home from work Home from work
Ten minutes later Ten minutes later

The ache that follows you home

Shoulders up around your ears, dinner going cold, and you are sitting there working the same knot with your thumbs. Hands give out in about thirty seconds. The board holds that spot for the full ten minutes.
Before Before
After the routine After the routine

The line you catch in every mirror

Years of looking down settle into a rounded shoulder line you notice side-on and try not to look at. Posture work does the heavy lifting here; the board is the release step that makes the rest easier to hold.

Everything Your Neck Holds Up All Day

None of them are useless. They just cannot hold one spot long enough to matter.

IS ALL A PAIR OF THUMBS LASTS

That is about how long hands can hold real pressure on the base of your own skull before they give out. The fibers need longer than that.

BEFORE A ROLLED TOWEL GOES FLAT

It feels right for a moment, then it packs down under the weight of your head and the pressure disappears.

DOLLARS FOR ONE THERAPY SESSION

Worth it, and this does not replace it. This is for the nights in between, when your neck compresses back up before the next visit.

The PhysioCurve System

Three design decisions that turn lying on the floor into steady, targeted pressure, with nothing to hold and nothing to charge.

1. The Traction Curve

1. The Traction Curve

  • Shaped to the profile physical therapists use on traction tables
  • Opens the space at the back of the neck instead of pressing it flat
  • Tail runs along the upper spine so the board sits stable, not tippy

Why it matters:

A flat surface presses. A curve positions. The difference is whether the release points get loaded at all.

2. The Two Lobes

2. The Two Lobes

  • Cradle the base of the skull, one on each side of the spine
  • Land on the suboccipital points instead of the bone itself
  • Ridged points along the tail work the band across the upper back

Why it matters:

Two points, not one flat slab. That is what your own thumbs are trying to do and cannot keep up.

3. Your Own Head Weight

3. Your Own Head Weight

  • 10 to 12 lb of steady pressure with nothing to squeeze or hold
  • Dense EVA holds the curve instead of collapsing under the load
  • Pressure stays constant for the full session, not just a few seconds

Why it matters:

Hands tire in under a minute. Gravity does not tire at all.

YOUR FIRST WEEK: FIRM IS THE POINT

1
Set Your Position
Two lobes under the base of the skull, tail down along the upper spine, chin slightly up. Let your head go heavy instead of holding your neck.
2
Day 1-3: Start Short
Two to three minutes at a time, once or twice a day. A strong tight feeling is normal with a firm tool: your muscles are being loaded properly for the first time.
3
Day 4-7: Build To Ten
Work up to five, then ten minutes as the tightness eases. If you feel dizzy or numb, stop and reset your head position using the diagram.
4
Week 2-3: Make It A Habit
Ten minutes before you switch to your pillow. Bigger changes build over two to three weeks, and the 90-day guarantee covers you either way.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it safe to lie on?

It is a firm self-care tool, not a medical device, and it uses no electricity or heat: only your own head weight. Skip it if you have a diagnosed neck condition, a recent injury or vascular issues, and check with your physical therapist first if you are unsure. Stop if you feel dizzy or numb.

It feels really firm. Is that wrong?

No, that is the point. A soft version could not hold the release. Start at 3 to 5 minutes for the first few days and build up as it eases. If it feels sharp rather than firm, your head is probably sitting on the wrong spot: reset using the position diagram.

How is this different from a $15 foam gadget?

Three things: the curve is set to the skull-base release points instead of generic bumps, the dense EVA holds its shape under a 10 to 12 lb head instead of flattening, and it ships with a first-week dosing guide. Most cheap boards arrive with no instructions at all, which is why they end up in a drawer.

Can I just use a rolled towel?

You can, and plenty of people start there. A towel flattens within minutes and gives you one uniform ridge instead of two contact points, so the pressure lands on the spine rather than beside it.

How fast will I feel a difference?

Some people feel looser the first night. Plenty of others just feel worked on for a few days. Week one is usually the tender week while you get used to the firmness, and the steadier change builds over two to three weeks of nightly use. We would rather tell you that than promise you a number.

Will it help the bump at the base of my neck?

It supports the appearance of a tighter, more upright posture line as part of a routine. Posture exercises do the heavy lifting; the board is the release step. Results vary from person to person.

What if it does not work for me?

You are covered by our 90-Day Money-Back Guarantee. Use it nightly for three weeks. If your neck does not feel looser, send it back and we refund you in full.

The shipping box showed up with a corner caved in and I figured great, here we go. Board inside was perfectly fine, not a mark on it. I'm an ER nurse, 12s, and I use it on the floor of my apartment before I shower off the shift. It's the only thing that gets that spot at the base of my skull.

My wife ordered this for me after I complained about my neck for the eleventh time that week. I made fun of it for about four days. Retired from the post office, 30 years of a bag on one shoulder, and this is the first thing that's gotten under those traps. She's very smug about it now.

Three weeks in so here's my honest take. It is HARD. I do hair, I'm on my feet leaning over a chair all day, and for the first week I had to fold a thin dish towel over it or I couldn't last two minutes. Once my neck got used to it the towel came off and now it's fine, but nobody warned me about that part so I'm warning you.

Somewhere in the middle for me. My neck is very stiff to begin with, and I genuinely cannot get flat on it comfortably, my chin ends up pointing at the ceiling and it makes me tense up instead of relaxing. I get a little loosening after, but not the dramatic thing other people describe. Three stars because it's well made and clearly works for a lot of folks, just maybe not for necks as locked up as mine.

I went down to a minute and it still wasn't for me. Gave it to my son who does plumbing with me and he loves the thing, so I'll say it's probably me and not the product, but two stars for my own experience.

My appointments were $70 a pop and I was going twice a month just to stay functional. I write for a living, which means my head is forward at a screen from 8 to 6. This doesn't replace the visits but it holds me over between them, which is exactly what I wanted. Paid for itself the first month.

After a full day on the mower my neck and shoulders feel like they've been shaken in a can. Landscaping crew, six days a week in season. My wife bought this and I ignored it for two weeks, then tried it, now it's mine. Ten minutes on the garage floor before I even go inside.

Took me maybe four tries to get my head positioned right, and until I did I wasn't feeling much. Once I got the two bumps sitting where the skull meets the neck, big difference. I'm a bank teller, counting and leaning forward all day, and the tension used to sit right between my shoulder blades. The little card helps but the print is small, would be five stars with a clearer picture.

Opened it at the kitchen table with my coffee and my wife asked what on earth that orange thing was. Retired from driving after 28 years and the neck never really forgave me. Been using it every night for a month now, five to ten minutes. She's asked to borrow it twice already so I imagine we'll be ordering another.

Arms up over somebody's head for six hours straight is what braiding is, and nobody tells you what it does to your neck. I'd been rolling a towel up for years and it goes flat almost immediately. This one holds its shape the entire ten minutes. My shoulders come down off my ears after and stay down.

Got the two pack, one for home and one to keep in my locker at the hospital. One of them had a small scuff on the underside out of the box, doesn't affect anything but figured I'd mention it. I'm a rad tech and I'm positioning patients and leaning over a console constantly. Ten minutes in the break room resets my whole afternoon.

It ended up living in my living room by the tv and I've made peace with that. Office admin, three screens, and by Wednesday my neck feels like it's made of hot wire. I lie down for ten minutes while my show is on and I don't even think about it anymore. My husband uses it after his softball league now too.

I coach and teach PE so I'm looking up, down and sideways all day and yelling on top of it. Tension used to settle right at the base of my skull and stay there all season. Ten minutes on the gym floor after practice, before I drive home. Simple, no batteries, nothing to break, which is why I trust it.

The relief is real but it doesn't stick around as long as I hoped. Call center, headset, eight hours, and my neck is tight again by the next afternoon even on the days I use it. It does feel good while I'm on it and right after, I'll give it that. Three stars, useful but I have to be consistent with it or it's like I never used it.

Small complaint first, it really ought to come with a carrying bag or a sleeve. I travel to see grandkids and I just throw it in the suitcase bare. Retired engineer, sat at a drafting table and then a computer for 41 years, and my neck has a permanent forward lean. Works well, holds up, just give me something to carry it in.

My daughter took this picture of me on the living room floor because she said nobody would believe I finally relaxed for ten minutes. I clean houses, six or seven a day, and my neck and shoulders never got a break. Now I do this before dinner and I'm not snapping at everybody by 7pm. That's worth more than what I paid.

The gear vest sits right on your traps the whole shift and you don't notice until you take it off and can't turn your head. Fire and EMS, 24 hour shifts. I keep this at the station and use it before I try to sleep on the bunk. Half the crew has ordered one at this point.

Would be five stars if the first week wasn't so rough. I started at the full ten minutes like a genius and I was sore in a weird way the next day, so I dropped back to two or three minutes and built up like the card said. Once I got past that it's been lovely and my morning stiffness is much better. Just go slow, seriously, don't be me.
