This one is cut from smooth matte quick-dry nylon instead. Nylon does not absorb sweat the way cotton does, so it stays light, it dries in minutes rather than hours, and it does not hold the salt that leaves those rings. The crown is low and completely unstructured, no stiff buckram panel inside, so it sits down close to your head instead of standing tall and catching wind, and you can roll it up and stuff it in a pack pocket and it comes out fine.
