The flat cap has one problem in July. It is a lovely looking hat and it is a wool oven. By the third hole or the second hour of driving your head is soaked, and the cap that was supposed to make you look put together is doing the opposite.
This one keeps the shape and throws out the wool. The body is quick dry technical fabric laser cut into a web of curved ribs, and behind every one of those cuts is open mesh. Air moves straight through the crown instead of sitting inside it.
Why laser cut and not just holes
Punched holes weaken the fabric and it goes floppy. Cutting the panel into ribs leaves the load bearing lines intact, so the crown holds its rounded flat sweep while most of the surface area is open. That is why this cap still looks structured on your head after a long hot afternoon.
