A cotton cap in October is the wrong material. It goes flat against a wool coat, it soaks up drizzle and stays damp, and it reads like a leftover from summer no matter what you pair it with.

This one is cut from a wool-blend Glen check instead, the same cloth family as a good winter blazer. The check is woven into the fabric, not printed on it, so the pattern runs through the panels and never fades in the wash. The crown is structured six-panel with a fabric-covered button on top, so it holds a clean shape rather than slumping, and the curved brim is lined in black underneath to cut glare and hide wear.
